National Association of Electrical Distributors Teams with
Affiliated Distributors to improve services to the
Electrical Supply Distribution Industry.

Affiliated Distributors (A-D) and the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) are pleased to announce a new and strengthened partnership with the acceptance of NAED into A-D’s network of preferred organizations.

NAED President Tom Naber said he was very positive about the new joint venture. “It’s a great opportunity for both organizations,” he said.  “At NAED, we are excited to work more closely with A-D because of their culture of innovation, their commitment to this industry and their easy-to-work-with style.”

As part of this strengthened partnership, the two groups have taken specific steps to bolster collaboration which will result in cost-savings and more streamlined, coordinated programs for members of both organizations.

These steps are:

1. A new agreement between A-D and IDEA to move all A-D electronic transactions through IDEA’s Industry Data Exchange which will result in cost-savings for A-D’s Affiliates and additional support for an important industry-wide initiative.

2. A-D endorsement of NAED’s Learning Center for vendor product training and training programs such as Electrical Products Education Course (EPEC), Voice-Data-Video (VDV) and Electrical Distributor Guided Education (EDGE).

David Oldfather, A-D Senior Vice President for its Electrical Supply Division, said strengthening the relationship between NAED and A-D will ultimately benefit members of both organizations.

“Education has always been a major and valued role for NAED. The investments NAED is making in its Learning Center are impressive and strongly suggest that the NAED Board and Education Foundation are committed to maintaining its strong menu of educational programs,” he said.  He added that A-D has committed itself to coordinating its training and promotional programs with NAED to ensure that A-D programs are complementary and not unnecessarily redundant.

To further strengthen the partnership, NAED and A-D representatives have held several recent meetings at each other’s headquarters; A-D staff has participated in several NAED task forces and panels; and NAED representatives conducted two seminars at A-D’s ESD North American Meeting.

NAED is the trade association for the $70 plus billion Electrical Distribution industries. Through networking, education, research and benchmarking, NAED helps electrical distributors increase profitability and improve the channel. NAED’s membership represents approximately 4,100 locations internationally.

A-D’s Electrical Supply Division is the largest buying/marketing group in the Electrical Industry with 150 members in U.S. and Canada and $11.5 billion in total sales volume.   Total member sales through all five A-D Divisions exceeds $25 billion.
